Wigan Joint Services Centre

The project encompasses the design, construction, financing and operation of the Wigan Joint Services Centre which was built by Morgan Sindall Plc and achieved services availability in June 2009. Facilities management services are provided by SPIE Facilities Services Ltd.

Although EMS commenced delivery of management services to the project in September 2014, members of the EMS team have been involved in this project since Financial Close, providing management services to the SPV from the early stages of construction.

The Wigan JSC includes 19,000m² of internal floor area, split across two sites adjacent to the Town Hall and comprises:

• Public libraries;
• Swimming pools (including a 25m pool)
• A fully equipped gym;
• Council offices; and
• A ‘One Stop Shop’ providing public access to a number of Council services.

Notable features of the project include a Grade II Listed retained façade that runs the breadth of the North Site and a ‘first floor’ swimming pool that is located in the South Site.
