Miles Platting Social Housing

The Miles Platting Social Housing PFI comprises the design, build, finance and operation of 1,149 low rise retained refurbished dwellings, 374 high rise retained refurbished dwellings, 11 new build properties and a 20 flat extra care extension with extensive communal facilities.

The project is located to the Northeast of Manchester City centre.

This project is the latest of a trio of Manchester–based social housing projects to fall under the management of EMS, with services to Miles Platting commencing in April 2022.

The local EMS team has significant experience of working with Manchester City Council and has established a strong working relationship over the eight years of project involvement, successfully navigating several high-level issues to mutually acceptable conclusions.

With EMS and Manchester City Council partnering on three projects, a portfolio approach has been developed both within the EMS delivery team and with the Authority which facilitates more strategic discussions around common project issues, implementing best practises and consideration of key Authority’s objectives such as carbon reduction initiatives.

In 2017 the project won Operational Project of the Year at the Partnership Awards.
