East Midlands LIFT
In January 2018 EMS commenced service delivery across the East Midlands LIFT portfolio under the banner EMS Community Ventures Limited, a joint venture company formed with healthcare business development specialists, Community Ventures (Management) Limited.
The East Midlands estate comprises 28 healthcare facilities with a combined GIFA of 97,000m2, located across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicester. The facilities were constructed and handed over between 2004 and 2011 by Laing O’Rourke and Balfour Beatty, and the FM Services are delivered by FES Ltd following the collapse of Carillion in January 2018.
Numerous services are delivered from the LIFT facilities including but not limited to GP surgeries, dentistry, minor surgeries and pharmacies.
The ECV team – based in Nottingham – has successfully navigated many complex challenges since April 2018 including:
• FM contractor replacement following the collapse of Carillion;
• Delivery of an extensive fire safety remedial works programme during COVID-19 lockdowns; and
• A condition survey led lifecycle expenditure re-profiling and model update exercise across the entire portfolio.
