Queen Margaret Academy
Pupils and staff enjoyed their first day in the new, £25m, Queen Margaret Academy in October 2019 after the state-of the art campus was successfully handed over to South Ayrshire Council by building contractor Kier Construction.
Phase 1 completion was successfully achieved on the 21 October 2019, allowing EMS to commence management services which will continue into the 25 year operational phase, as well as taking on Phase 2 responsibilities which includes the demolition of the existing Queen Margaret Academy and the final sections of landscaping, set for completion in September 2020. The project was delivered on time and on budget for South Ayrshire Council and has allowed the successful transition of 600 pupils from the existing facility to the new facility.
During the commencement of the operational term and management of Phase 2, EMS has operated a professional, open, collaborative and transparent management approach that is well received by all stakeholders, an approach that has undoubtedly been, and will continue to be, a fundamental contributing factor to this successful project.
