Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary

On 1st March 2023 EMS commenced providing Management Services Agreement at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary (DGRI) in Scotland.
The Project comprises the financing, construction, operation and maintenance of the £212m Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary. The hospital provides 344 single ensuite bedrooms, an emergency care centre, a combined theatres complex a women and children’s block as well as an onsite residency accommodation complex. This is the first hospital in Scotland to be 100% single bedrooms for patients. The hospital is built on the outskirts of Dumfries town incorporating the surrounding countryside into the design making it the UK’s first “Garden Hospital”, and was procured under the NPD style procurement model for NHS Dumfries & Galloway.
The building reached practical completion in September 2017 and opened to the public on 8th December the same year. Construction was by Laing O’Rourke and Serco FM provide the Hard FM and Lifecycle Services.
The project is owned by Foresight Group (Pensions Infrastructure Platform) and is crucial in EMS’s strategy to secure 3rd party MSA’s.
